Cookies? Not Really.
I don't bake cookies here - I make AI art styles. StyleForger doesn't use tracking cookies to follow you around the internet like a lost puppy.
I do use localStorage (that's your browser's little notebook) to remember helpful things like:
- Your theme preference (dark mode gang, I see you )
- Styles you've liked (so the hearts stay filled)
- Your browsing session state
This data lives in your browser, on your device. I can't see it, sell it, or do anything weird with it. It's yours.
Your Personal Collections
StyleForger lets you create and organize Personal Collections — your own curated galleries of favorite styles. Here's how that works behind the scenes:
- Collection names & descriptions — Whatever you call your masterpieces.
- Saved style IDs — The styles you've added to each collection.
- Organization & order — How you've arranged everything.
- Timestamps — When collections were created and last updated.
All of this is stored 100% locally in your browser's localStorage. I never see your collections, can't access them, and definitely can't judge your questionable taste in chaotic art styles.
You're in control: You can export your collections as a JSON backup anytime, or share them via a special URL. These shareable links encode your collection data directly in the URL — no server storage involved. When someone opens your shared link, the collection lives in their browser too.
What I Do Collect
To keep the lights on and the bots out, I collect some basic, anonymized visitor data:
- Browser type - Chrome? Firefox? A toaster running Netscape? I'm curious, not judgmental.
- Operating system - Windows, Mac, Linux, or that one person still on a Blackberry.
- Approximate location - Country-level only, via your IP. I couldn't find your house if I tried (and I wouldn't try).
- Pages visited - Which styles caught your eye. For science. And better recommendations.
Plot twist: All of this info can be changed by using a VPN. I only see what your browser chooses to share. If it says you're a penguin browsing from Antarctica on a quantum computer, that's what I'll believe.
Why I Track Anything At All
Honestly? Bots.
The internet is full of scrapers, crawlers, and automated gremlins that would love to hammer my servers into oblivion. By tracking visitor patterns, I can tell the difference between a human art lover browsing styles and a bot trying to download my entire database at 3am.
This keeps StyleForger fast, free, and functional for actual humans like you.
Your Votes & Likes
When you heart a style, I store that vote in my database - but it's tied to your session, not your identity. I don't know who you are, just that "someone" liked style #4857291.
No accounts. No emails. No "sign up to continue browsing" nonsense. Just vibes and votes.
The Bottom Line
StyleForger is my little side project - something I built for the AI art community while juggling a 9-to-5. I'm not a big corporation harvesting data, building profiles, or selling your browsing habits to the highest bidder.
I collect the bare minimum to keep the site running smoothly and the robots at bay. That's it. That's the whole policy.
My promise: I'll never ask for more than I need, and I'll always be upfront about what I do. If that ever changes, I'll update this page - but honestly, I'm too busy adding cool new styles to get into the data-harvesting business.
Oh, and one more thing: StyleForger is 100% free. Every single style is accessible to everyone. No paywalls, no premium tiers, no "subscribe to unlock" nonsense, no hidden costs. Just 16,418 styles, completely free, forever. I built this for the community, not my wallet.
